The Kindergarteners may choose from a multitude of activities such as sensory, reading, science, art, music, housekeeping, writing, manipulative objects and computers. The children will also have small group time with planned activities on creative representation, language and literacy development, movement and music, time, space, number classification (math), science and social interaction. Large group time will include game playing, listening to stories, acting out stories, or discussions of the stories. This time helps children to learn to focus, acquire turn taking skills and fosters a sense of community. Guidance throughout the afternoon consists of positive interaction by teaching the children the steps of problem solving.
Special field trips may be included in children’s activities.
Transportation from morning Kindergarten will be provided from area schools based upon the number of children enrolled. Families may choose a catered hot lunch or pack their child’s lunch. Cradles to Crayons will provide milk for lunch and a health afternoon snack with 100% juice.
A sample schedule of daily activities is available. The ratio is 1:12 with a certified and experienced teacher.
